The Liverpool Waters Regeneration Project is an ambitious transformation project of the city’s northern docks on a 60 hectare site.

The project is a mixed-use waterfront quarter of residential homes and office space in central Liverpool, which coupled with the Wirral Waters on the West bank of the Mersey, will majorly benefit Liverpool city centre and North Liverpool’s infrastructure and economy to an estimated £1.3 billion, providing opportunities for jobs, training and skill development.

Infrastructure improvements as part of the project will provide easy access between Liverpool Waters and the city centre, ensuring connectivity with the existing waterfront.

The Liverpool Waters Regeneration Project will enable Liverpool to compete with cities across the globe, including Barcelona, Boston, Hamburg and Toronto with the scale and diversity of its city centre waterfront offering.

Liverpool Waters is comprised of five districts:

Princes Dock

Princes Dock is a vibrant neighbourhood, with 1,200 high quality residential homes, alongside 12,800 square metres of Grade A office space with a variety of amenities including a coffee shop, restaurant, two 5 star hotels with a total of 580 rooms, multi-storey car parking and Liverpool’s cruise line terminal.

The Princes Dock benefits from excellent accessibility and within walking distance to attractions including the Tate Gallery, British Music Experience, Beatles Museum and Liverpool One. Liverpool Lime Street train station is within five-minutes’ drive and Liverpool John Lennon Airport is just 25-minutes away.

Central Docks

Central Docks will be the primary business, entertainment and leisure district of Liverpool Waters, incorporating 3,800 new homes, 166,00 square metres of office space,25,000 square metres of bars and restaurants and a park.

Central Docks are already a popular location for events in Liverpool, hosting major events including Sound City and Creamfields Steelyard; therefore, it has naturally been selected as the new home for a cultural hub dedicated to Liverpool’s cultural heritage and a new Isle of Man Ferry Terminal and Embassy. These new spaces will all benefit from a public park and views across the River Mersey.

Clarence Docks

Clarence Docks are a unique and distinctive part of the Liverpool Waters regeneration plan, with a community in the historic docklands of up to 3,000 homes, restaurants, bars and office space with exceptional waterfront views, which can be enjoyed first hand with its own water sports centre.

Northern Docks

Northern Docks is situated at the northern end of Liverpool Waters, close to the newly redeveloped Titanic Hotel and will feature retail, bars and restaurants, a sports stadium and a marina.

The Northern Docks consists of the old Bramley Moore Dock and Nelson Docks and has been identified as a possible site for a new state of the art football stadium for Everton Football Club, with negotiations between the club, the councils and Liverpool Waters on-going.

King Edward Triangle

King Edward Triangle will connect Liverpool Waters and the commercial district of Liverpool city centre.

Upgrades to the area are already underway with improvements to roads and public transport service, to provide connectivity to Liverpool Waters.

King Edward Triangle is also within close proximity of the new Liverpool Cruise Liner Terminal and the new Isle of Man Ferry Terminal, both of which will increase visitor numbers.
